The week is organised by Grown in Britain, a non-profit company set up by the sector in 2012 to take forward the Government's forestry and woodland policy.

It will start with a reception for industry figures at the House of Lords hosted by Defra minister Lord de Mauley.

Among the other events, Confor Wales will host a one-day conference on Tuesday 14 October to look at reasons for the decline in the country's softwood industry.

And on Friday 17 October, the Wood Fuel Conference 2014 will be held at Denbie's Wine Estate in Surrey, highlighting opportunities to take advantage of this growing sector.
