There is a lot of technology packed into the engine end of this 24.5cc Shindaiwa C2510 brushcutter, but from the professional's point of view we would like a bit more power at the business end.
At this price we reckon that we will take two. But wait a minute. What's that smell?
It is classified as a mid-range, semi-professional machine but it takes dense grass and brushwood in its stride and we found it comfortable to use. In fact, we reckon the Efco Stark 44 has quite a lot going for it.
With raw power, rapid acceleration, low vibrations and excellent ergonomics, the Husqvarna 535RXT is a tough machine that our testers want to use again and again. In fact, they use it for several weeks and are somewhat reluctant to hand it back to Husqvarna.
One of the three clearing saws introduced by STIHL last year, the Stihl FS410C-E is a contractor's machine.
What a winner. This new Echo SRM300TESU is easy to start and has unexpected power.
Try it. The Echo HCA-265ES is a machine that you will either love or hate. We tested it at Alscot Park in Warwickshire two years ago and it got a distinct "thumbs down". Today, at Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, we have a difference of opinion.
