How did you get started? My first business was a macrobiotic restaurant, which opened in 1967 and was a mecca for lovers of brown rice and other organic goodies. This evolved into Whole Earth Foods and out of that came Green Black's, the first organic chocolate.

Clive Morton has joined Covent Garden Market Authority (CGMA) as finance director. He was previously finance director for Harvey Nichols and KPMG. Bob Marlow has been appointed as CGMA operations director. His previous role was as general manager at Western International Market.

Liz Falkingham has been appointed by the NFU as its new director of communications from 2 June. Falkingham previously worked as the editor of Farmers Guardian. She replaces Anthony Gibson who is retiring after 36 years at the NFU.

Professor David Mabberley, author of the Plant Book, has been appointed as keeper of the herbarium at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Mabberley is currently director of the University of Washington Botanic Gardens in Seattle, US. He will take up his appointment in March.
