Ruxley Manor Garden Centre unveils restaurant plans

Ruxley Manor Garden Centre in Sidcup, Kent, is to open a 600-cover restaurant.

Director James Evans said: "The work is being tendered out, but MP Build is the managing contractor and is doing the groundwork. All the catering equipment is being done by Space Catering. We are then tendering out the other aspects of the build."

The restaurant will have indoor seating and a terrace. "A separate events area will be used for gardening talks when required. We hope for it to be finished by the end of October, well in time for Christmas," Evans said.

Meanwhile, Vear Construction has completed a warehouse and retail area at Ruxley Manor on the site of a building that burnt down in 2009.

James Evans and his cousin Andrew Evans now run the business following Andrew's father Richard's retirement.
