Royal Forestry Society appoints director of development

The Royal Forestry Society (RFS) has appointed Simon Lloyd to the new post of director of development from the beginning of December.

He was previously bursar of Hertford College, Oxford, for four years and had a 28-year career in BP, mainly in business development and marketing strategy.

He has been a long standing member of the RFS and manages his family’s woodlands in Herefordshire. He was recently awarded merit in the post-graduate diploma in forestry from Bangor University.

Meanwhile, the new vice chairman of the Arboricultural Association (AA), Surry-based consultant Jago Keen has collected the RSF Lockhart Garratt trophy for Arboricultural Excellence after coming top in the PDArb exams.

Keen, owner of Keen Consultants, provides services to developers, national house-builders and planners in the UK and Europe. He is chairman of the AA professional committee and sits on their board of trustees.
