RHS licenses Michael O'Mara Books to produce illustrated publications

Colouring books, postcard books, notebooks and diaries are to draw on the RHS art collection.

The books are RHS Notes and Quotes, RHS Postcard Book, RHS Postcards to Colour and RHS Colouring Diary and are available from May/June.

Michael O’Mara Books is the latest addition to the RHS Licensing programme, which has more than 50 licensees in the gardening, gifting and homeware categories and is supported by a new RHS Licensing Style Guide based on 500 images selected from more than 25,000 housed in the RHS Lindley Library. RHS Licensing is growing in 2016 to include educational toys, apparel and accessories, and an expanded garden category.

O'Mara communications head Clara Nelson said: "We are delighted to be producing this range of books and printed material for the RHS, the main inspiration for which came both from the extent and depth of the RHS Lindley Library and from the gardens themselves. In fact having access to such amazing artwork and being asked to bring it to consumers in such a delightful way is inspiring in itself."

RHS licensing manager Cathy Snow said: "These books make excellent use of images from the RHS Lindley Library and are not only beautifully designed and presented but practical and inspirational. This is a delightful range of books that will be popular with horticulture lovers everywhere."
