How to recruit and retain young people in production horticulture to be discussed

Southern Growers Club in association with IPPS and West Sussex Growers Association is to examine horticultural recruitment.

‘How to recruit and retain young people in production horticulture’ will be at Chichester College Cathedral Room, Westgate Fields, Chichester PO19 1SB on 3 March 2016 at 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start.

Brinsbury campus director Steve Millam will lead a Round Table discussion on the issue.

To facilitate Martin Emmett (Ornamentals Roundtable working group chair) will speak on national initiatives relating to skills and recruitment, Millam will speak on changes to apprenticeships – opportunities for the industry, Sarah Cathcart (RHS head of education and learning) will discuss encouraging the next generation and give an update on Grow Careers and Graham Bryant (Growtrain, chair WSGA, secretary IPPS Europe).
