Ransomes rides out to Spain

PGA Catalunya Resort, recently voted the Number-one golf course in Spain, has just signed a five-year preferred-supplier agreement with Ipswich-based Ransomes Jacobsen.

Over the next five years the entire fleet for the 300ha course in Girona will become an all-Ransomes affair as the current 7-year-old kit is replaced.

First purchase was a Fairway 405, a seven-gang ride-on fairway mower, said David Bataller, head greenkeeper for the two 18-hole courses.

"The quality of cut we get from the 405 played a significant role in determining our choice of equipment. We mow the fairways every day and the finish it is producing is superb."

Earlier this year, the course was ranked number one by website Top100golfcourses.co.uk.
