Pro-Grow aimed at gardening market

Veolia has launched peat-free organic growing-media range Pro-Grow, targeted at the garden retail market.

The gardening products firm, which turns 400,000 tonnes of green garden waste into compost each year, has 15 production sites in the UK and has historically sold compost in bulk. It recently started manufacturing more comprehensive products for the horticulture industry.

Pro-Grow is Veolia's own compost brand. It includes multipurpose compost, soil conditioner, bark chips, woodchips and lawn conditioner. All are 100 per cent peat-free and manufactured and packed in the UK.

The products are being supplied to retailers such as CPL Distribution, Primrose, Bolshaws, the RHS, the National Trust and independent garden centres. Pro-Grow is also sold through the company's points of sales and online via its website (
