First-time exhibitors Primrose Hall Nursery is taking part in a new RHS Floral Marquee Innovation Project designed to encourage nurseries to present their floral displays in new ways, pushing creative boundaries to impress visitors. The installation by Primrose Hall Nursery will showcase both Alstroemeria and Peonies focusing on their interpretation of the different ‘personalities’ of these plants.
The installation will feature an "immersive nightclub environment", 2.4m high by 6m wide built in two parts; the dance floor and the chill out zone.
Nurseryman Alec White said: "It’s been quite a task and I’m sure many people will think we are crazy but we just love Alstroemeria and Peonies and we think this is a great way to show how fun horticulture can be. I hope the installation will appeal to all visitors, young and old, beginner and experienced alike."
Nurseryman Sarah Barker said "We were excited to be given this opportunity to break from the normal format and to let our creative ideas run wild as part of the innovation project. We have received fabulous support and encouragement from the show and we hope the visitors (and judges) enjoy it."
Primrose Hall Nursery has been mentored through this project by Darryl Moore who said: "Having a background in the music industry and as a former DJ, the floral installation by Primrose Hall is certainly something which strikes a chord with me. Their ambition is big and bold and neatly exemplifies what the RHS Floral Marquee Innovation Project is all about."
