Pon-Pon previewed at the Euroflora show in Genoa and is the latest new line from Biancheri Creations. The flower recalls the form and shape of woollen balls popular with children, the company explained.
The line is a multiplication by Vitro and is characterised by a strong stem, good resistance to Botrytis and a vase life of up to three weeks.
Pon-Pon can be harvested at the start of October, earlier than other varieties, and colours include orange, pink, white and yellow.
The 10th Euroflora at Genoa Fair & Exhibition Centre recorded 430,000 visitors over 11 days last month, with 800 exhibitors representing 19 Italian regions and 16 foreign countries.
