Planters seeks garden centre general manager as Stuart Gooden moves to pastures new

After 14 years, centre manager Stuart Gooden is "looking to take it slightly easier and moving to the South West".

During that time Planters (Tamworth) has doubled turnover to £5m, invested over £3m in the 20-acre site including £1.6m in a restaurant, created a tourist attraction with "SkyTrail".

Planters has built a pet centre (including dog grooming) contributing just short of 10 per cent of turnover, as do Christmas decoration sales.

Planters is now recruiting for a new general manager, who will put Planters (Tamworth) into the top 10 centres for turnover (and profitability) in the UK.
