The total number of visitors this year (17,150) was similar to 2014 (17,180).
This year, registered visitors came from 44 countries.
Most of the trade visitors came from Germany (23 per cent). Belgium was in second place (16 per cent), with Italy in third place (12 per cent). France was at number four (nine per cent), the UK was in fifth place (seven per cent) and Poland came sixth (four per cent). Denmark was in seventh place at three per cent, with Sweden and the US both coming in eighth (2.5 per cent). The other 21 per cent came from the remaining countries. Some 14 per cent of the trade visitors to Plantarium said that this was their first visit.
At Plantarium 2015, the trade visitors could be divided into owners (51 per cent), employees (34 per cent) and buyers (15 per cent). Theere was a rise of 11 per cent in the owners category and came at the expense of the percentage of employees.
Growers made up a third of visitors and garden centres a quarter. Traders were a fifth and suppliers one eighth.
