Naturelight said the 4m-high, 600sq m roof would encourage plant growth, help plants harden off, cut wastage and create an all-weather working environment.
An automated electrical linear actuator power system opens the roof in one minute, allowing 90 per cent to be open to the elements.
Commercial manager Ken Morris said other roofs had recently gone in at champion vegetable grower Medwyn Williams' Anglesea premises and at Schofields Garden World in Macclesfield. He explained that the modular system means retailers can expand internal retail areas.
The roof cost £140 per square metre without glass and groundworks compared with the £3m Bents' bespoke Open Skies system. It can withstand one metre of snow loading and wind speeds of 25 metres per second.
