According to Poppelmann, the irrigation and drainage properties of the multi-hole bottom allow for rapid and healthy growth while the highly opaque colours block light from penetrating the pot walls, preventing root system deterioration or damage.

The lack of internal stacking ridges provides an additional benefit in allowing roots to grow undisturbed. The pots stack on feet below the bottom. High lateral stability and a pronounced rim make the pots suitable for use through automated systems. They boast easy de-nesting in the potting machine and trouble-free handling with forks.
