Bedding grower Eastwood Plants has been instrumental in in getting Home Grown better known, introducing the labelling on all their produce over the last three years.
Director Adam Eastwood said: "We got on board when it first started and we’ve put the Home Grown logo on our printed pots for years and on our bespoke labels. It’s a good idea to promote where plants are grown. We put the logo on anything printed. A lot of people add their own thing to it. We put grown in Sussex on ours too."
The award for the Best Bedding or Pot Plant Introduction, judged by Buckingham Nurseries' Chris Day and BPOA secretary Simon Davenport, went to Calibrachoa hybr. WFL Chameleon Sunshine Berry from Elsner pac. Judges said it has a, "distinctive colour, good form and strong customer appeal."
Two High Commendations were also awarded: One to Bidens ‘Moon Light’ (pictured below) from Thompson and Morgan and and one for Begonia Summerwings ‘Ebony and Orange’ from Kernock Park Plants.
