The Zonartic Pelargonium 'Rushmoor Amazon' is the result of 30 years of breeding in Australia and subsequently in the UK. The first release of 12 new Rushmoor River Series cultivars, ‘Rushmoor Amazon’ is a true buttery yellow.
The habit and flowers of these cultivars are so different from any other Pelargonium that they have merited their own horticultural classification as Zonartic, which comes from the parentage being a cross between a zonal Pelargonium and P. articulatum. Pedicels are longer giving a more open inflorescence, with flower diameters ranging from 5-7cm.
It is being launched at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2017 and entered into the RHS Chelsea Plant of the Year competition.
