Pearl weedkiller

Agrigem has launched a new herbicide for annual, perennial and grass weeds.

Pearl contains 150g per litre glufosinate ammonium - the only chemical approved for horsetail control on hard surfaces. It is also approved for line marking.

The product acts rapidly, with results seen within 48 hours. Pearl is believed to be the only glufosinate-ammonium product on the market available in 500ml and five-litre containers. Agrigem managing director Kieran Would said: "With the spotlight well and truly on glyphosate, and operators looking at alternative products, now is the ideal time to be considering the application of Pearl."

Pearl is mainly a contact herbicide but there is some translaminar movement within the plant. Stems of trees and shrubs are largely unaffected but care should be taken because some speckling may occur.
