Ninety-three per cent of residents in a district-wide survey said they were satisfied with parks and open spaces – a statistic the council decided was worth applauding.

John O’Conner provides the council with specialist grounds maintenance services. The company regularly meets with the client team to deliver extra initiatives such as work experience opportunities and corporate social responsibility projects.

The visit, held at Howard Gardens in Letchworth, also allowed the company’s four apprentices on the NHDC contract to discuss their experiences with councillors and senior management.
