Parks minister to speak at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

Parks minister Stephen Williams is due to speak today at the launch of a new partnership between DS Smith and Green Flag.

The parliamentary under secretary of state for communities and local government, whose remit includes parks, will address an audience drawn from government, local authorities, charities, Green Flag Award judges and the community sector, at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park this afternoon.

Packaging company DS Smith and Keep Britain Tidy which runs the Green Flag Awards will also reveal further details of how they will work together over the next two years, as DS Smith comes on board as sponsor of the awards.

DS Smith has pledged to volunteer and fundraise, supporting the development of green spaces and the Green Flag Award for both communities and businesses in the UK across all its sites.

DS Smith operates across 25 countries and employs around 21,500 people.
