The Parks Alliance secures meeting with key minister

The minister responsible for parks has agreed to meet members of The Parks Alliance - a key priority for the group since formation.

The meeting was a key goal for the sector originally posited at the second Parks Leadership Round Table, hosted by Horticulture Week in May 2013. The alliance was formed at the same event.

Stephen Williams, under secretary of state for communities and local government, whose brief includes parks, has agreed to meet them on 4 November. Williams is the Liberal Democrat MP for Bristol West.

The Parks Alliance vice chairman Dr Sid Sullivan said: "We are delighted that the minister has agreed to our request for a meeting and an opportunity to discuss with him the issues and provide a reliable and sector-wide voice on them."
