P&W Maintenance Contracting liquidates

P&W Maintenance Contracting has gone into liquidation with debts of £1.71m.

Liquidators are Craig Johns and Jason Mark Elliott of Cowgill Holloway Business Recovery, Bolton.

The Oswestry-based company supplied grounds maintenance to Oswestry Town Council, Powys Council, Ellesmere Town Council, Shropshire Council, Flintshire Council, Wrexham Council, Denbighshire Council, Manchester Fire Authority, Clwyd Alyn Housing Association and others.

Cowgill Holloway confirmed their appointment but refused to comment further. The company wound up on 17 November. Assets were listed at £40,000. Managing director was Jim Thompson.

Creditors include HM Revenue & Customs (£410,329), Lloyds Bank (£737,795), RPG (Anglesey) (£100,430), and The Funding Circle (£50,000).

Ellesmere Town Council clerk Mandy Evans said Maintenance Contractors (Oswestry), also run by Jim Thompson, and set up in September 2015, now provides grounds maintenance for the town. Oswestry Town Council confirmed similar arrangements.

An MCO representative said the company had taken over "a lot of the goodwill" from P&W.
