Crop supervisor Dan Willard at West Sussex-based Walberton Nursery has passed his NVQ Level 3. Willard commented: "Since joining Walberton Nursery in 2007 I have been very impressed with the level of support I have received and the nursery's commitment to staff training."
Nursery manager Tim Lawrance-Owen believes Walberton's training programme directly supports the growth of the business.
He said: "In the past year alone we have had three members of staff attaining NVQ level 2 in addition to Dan's achievement, and this year we plan to support two more staff."
Lawrance-Owen added: "Much of the success of the training can be attributed to the work of our in-house assessor Dawn Smith, whose practical skills and all-round knowledge are second to none."
