The grower has planned the move for more than five years. It new headquarters is a former research site that is 10 minutes away from its current location, which is surrounded by housing. Owners the Paton family bought the Efford site in 2005.
The last lily crop has been cleared from the Lymington site and new lilies are now being grown at Efford. Poinsettia will also be produced there and mobile tables have now been installed in the growing houses.
The green belt site in Lymington site will be developed as housing. It will have 80 one-, twoand three-bedroom dwellings built on it by Pennyfarthing Homes. Work could start after the demolition has been completed this autumn. The architect is Williams Lester.
