Turnover was 6.3 per cent up. Gross profit margin fell from 50 per cent to 48 per cent reflecting a move to drive volume sales. Operating profit was £1.29m, up from £1.08m.
Chairman Nicky Dulieu said sales were 1.8 per cent above a comparator group in the GCA.
Notcutts, which has 18 garden centres, redeveloped its Wheatcroft and Woodford Park centres during the year, spending £4.89m on capital projects.
Dulieu said the plan was to "maintain focus on developing the garden centre portfolio".
Directors are Dulieu, Nick Burrows, Caroline Notcutt and Bryan Laxton. Seven directors were stated as having resigned, including Michael Cole, Mark Wootton and Andrew Staff. President Charles Notcutt died aged 81 in July 2015.
