Notcutts pays tribute to long-serving employees

Three Notcutts Garden Centre employees from the Bagshot store have been presented with gold watches to honour 25 years of service from company chairman Charles Notcutt.

All three staff members had worked for Waterers Nurseries before it was taken over by Not-cutts in 1982. Taking that time into account, garden centre secretary Maureen Byrne (27 years), planteria manager Adrian Thompson (38 years) and restaurant assistant Kaye Thompson (36 years) have accumulated over 100 years between them.

The garden centre also served as a match-maker - Adrian and Kay met at the store, got married in 1973 and have lived near the store since then.

Their daughter Sarah has continued the links between the garden centre and the family - she is indoor manager at the company's Staines store.
