Cheviot Trees in the Scottish Borders and Alba Trees in East Lothian are each supplying 150,000 trees to garden centres and DIY stores. The remaining trees for the bid to plant 680,000 trees will come from existing campaigns from organisations during National Tree Week (26 November – 7 December). A world record bid to plant 20,000 trees in one place is also planned. The whips will go out to around 1,000 HTA retail members and DIY stores.

The promotion launches on BBC2's Autumnwatch on 20 November.

Trees include rowan, birch, cherry, field maple and hawthorn.
