Harvest Housing Group is looking for contractors to provide grounds maintenance across thousands of its homes.
The work is split into seven lots — valued at between £150,000 and £900,000 — and includes: litter picking; graffiti and fly-tipping removal; grass cutting; shrub-, rose-and mixed-bed maintenance; hedge and tree maintenance; sweeping; and weed/moss control.
A representative for Harvest Housing Group said he expected the contract to be let to a number of firms. "We are talking about 12,000 properties affected, because there is also a cleaning contract in addition to the grounds maintenance work," he explained.
"It spreads from Buxton up to Cumbria so we expect it will be multiple contractors getting the work."
Firms including Vale Contract Services have undertaken the work in the past. The contract could be extended by up to two years.
Representatives from the housing group's residents will be involved in the process of choosing contractors.
The representative added: "We are setting up a customer panel to help with the selection of the contractors."
The deadline to register interest is 10 July and final deadline is 21 July. Contact Richard Holliday, Rand Associates Consultancy Services, at tenders@rand-associates.co.uk.
