Newbank Garden Centre posts improved results

The four centre Lancashire-Yorkshire group saw garden centre and e-commerce returns improve in the year to 31 August 2015 in recently posted results.

Turnover was £8.87m, up 10.73 per cent from £8.01m. 

E-commerce sales were up 66.26 per cent.

Gross margin rose to 44.9 per cent from 42.6 per cent.

Profit after tax was £975,000.

Newbank has centres at Radcliffe, Halifax, Dobcross and Royton.

Land bought at the Halifax site in 2014 was in a contaminated state, leading to further negotiations about building an additional garden centre.
