The Institute of Groundsmanship (IoG), which hosted the 70th SALTEX exhibition, said the event exceeded expectations, with an independent audit finding 8,714 people attended. Of those visitors who returned surveys, more than 70 per cent rated their overall experience as good, very good or excellent.
IoG chief executive Geoff Webb faced criticism after making the decision to move the show to the NEC - a much smaller space than the Windsor Racecourse where it had been held previously. However of those who returned surveys, 70 per cent said the new location was either good or excellent and more than 70 per cent rated the compact layout of the event as good or excellent.
Of those surveyed, 65 per cent said they attended SALTEX to source new products, services or suppliers, while 20 per cent wanted to make the most of the free educational seminars and expertise on offer. More than 80 per cent said they were successful or very successful in meeting their objectives, while more than 70 per cent said there was an excellent mix of products.
SALTEX 2016 will be held at the NEC, Birmingham on 2 and 3 November 2016.
