MM50 is a popular choice for cricket groundsmen. The new mix possesses improved shoot density along with tolerance to close mowing making it particularly suitable for cricket squares. Other key features include fast recovery from wear and damage and high disease resistance.
The mix already contains the perennial ryegrass cultivars Venice and Malibu.
The mix is also treated with Headstart Gold, the company's seaweed-based seed treatment which helps to ensure rapid and even germination. Limagrain says the treatment is particularly useful in the less-than-favourable conditions that can sometimes be found on cricket squares during renovations.
All varieties in the MM mixtures are thoroughly tested at the Sports Turf Research Institute (STRI).
