A proposal by developer Spitfire for five two-bedroom homes, six three-bedroom properties, two houses with four bedrooms and one with five was given the final go-ahead by Solihull Council’s planning committee last week.
A Solihull Council report, recommending the proposal, said: "The proposal site, known as Ashton Nurseries, was originally a plant nursery run by H. Ashton & Sons who were floral and landscape decorators. The business expanded over time into other activities including a prop supply company for the BBC and a commercial landscaping business. The site remains in low level mixed use with limited partial use as a plant nursery. There are currently five buildings on the site, which have the following uses; Building 1 – Used for the storage of furniture and tools.
The application was recommended subject to a Section 106.
