Meat lobbyist campaigns for more 'flash barbecues' in parks

There could be more people holding barbecues in English parks if one meat marketing organisation gets its way.

The English Lamb and Beef Executive (EBLEX), which is part of the Red Tractor Scheme, is promoting the concept of ‘flash barbecues’ in parks and public spaces.

In the same way that people have flash events, organised by mobile phone, EBLEX want people to organise spontaneous barbecues in parks.

EBLEX have produced a website with a list of 70 public areas where barbecues are allowed. They have also produced an iPhone application, so that people can access the list from their mobile phones.
