Makita twin18V hedge trimmer range

For grounds care and horticultural operations, Makita has introduced more tools that harness the power of twin 18V lithium-ion batteries to deliver 36V performance.

By harnessing the power of two 18V batteries on one machine, the overall power amperage produced is actually higher than that of a single 36V battery.

New products benefiting from the twin-battery range include a 300mm chainsaw, leaf blower, 550mm hedge trimmer, brush cutter, line trimmer and 380mm lawn mower. These can be bought "body only" by professionals who already own 18V batteries.

Makita has also launched a 5.0Ah Li-ion battery for 66 per cent more run time. Weighing the same as 18V 3.0Ah batteries, the new units are compatible with existing Li-ion 18V tools and chargers and have a 45-minute charge time. The 5.0Ah option will suit operators undertaking high-load operations or those who work on large sites far from a charging point.
