Makita RBL500

As a backpack model, the RBL500 is in a different class. But if you are looking to clear a large amount of debris, clean down a football stadium or dry off several hundred seats, this may be a solution.
The RBL500 is noted for its comfort. This is a blower that sits on the user’s back, enabling the operator to work for long periods. The shoulder straps are wide and well-padded and the weight distribution means you would never know you were carrying well over eight kilograms.
The engine is protected by a strong frame — it should take all the knocks and bumps of commercial life — and there is a useful carrying handle to help lift the blower on and off the transport vehicle.
A tester finds the blower to be powerful, and the tube is sufficiently long that he is able to stand upright.
Another tester comments: “It’s easy to start this one and I like the way the choke automatically goes off when you reach full revs.
“The controls are well positioned and it’s remarkably comfortable to wear on your back and to use.”
