Major acquisition made by Nurture Landscapes

Nurture Landscapes is positioning itself as a "truly national" contractor as it completes its largest-ever acquisition on 1 November, acquiring Integritas Landscapes from Securitas UK.

Nurture is a national horticulture and landscape maintenance business with more than 1,000 ongoing contracts for public and private sector clients. The company's core services are landscape maintenance, winter gritting and interior and exterior plant displays.

Integritas provides landscape maintenance and winter gritting primarily to business clients, with a broad contract portfolio of commercial, retail and public open spaces on sites throughout England.

The largest contract includes 70 sites for Workman, encompassing 11 Goodman Business Parks, with both Workman and Goodman being existing clients of Nurture. Other contracts include Thurrock Shopping Centre, IHG Hotels (formerly Holiday Inn) and Greenbelt.

Integritas will trade as Nurture Landscapes from 1 November and will operate within the company's existing regional structure.

The combined operations will have 38 static sites with full-time dedicated gardeners covering business parks, corporate headquarters, shopping centres, hotels, schools and universities.

Nurture reported just under £17m in sales for the year to March 2015, but the firm expects to exceed £25m this year thanks to the purchase of Integritas, which had sales of £5.3m in 2014 and has 106 employees. The company will have more than 400 employees and 185 mobile teams across the UK.

Since it was founded by managing director Peter Fane in 2009, Nurture has acquired a string of companies including Landcare, Greenability, Mulberry, JMK Groundcare and Park View Landscapes. The company's five-year plan includes acquisition growth of £2-3m per year as well as sales wins of £2-3m per year.

Fane said the acquisition of Integritas enhances Nurture's regional operations and strengthens the company's position as "a truly national landscape maintenance contractor". Integritas area director Mark Lusty will become a director of Nurture.

Lusty was formerly operations and sales director at Waterers Landscapes, where many of the Nurture and Integritas management team previously worked together.

Good relationships between the two firms' staff will make it easier for Integritas to seamlessly integrate with Nurture, said Lusty, while existing clients will benefit from the extra services that a larger business will be able to provide.
