Meanwhile, Regent's Park manager Nick Biddle is running the Royal Park Foundation Half Marathon on 9 October to support the hedgehogs of Regent’s Park and the habitats they rely on.
All donations will to help support biodiversity work in Regent's Park, particularly the Hedgehog Conservation Project.
Biddle said: "These small mammals rely on our sensitive management of habitats within the park which in turn relies on our understanding of the hedgehog population within the park. Given the current national decline in hedgehog numbers and the Regent’s Park’s population’s status as the last known breeding population in central London this is one of our most pressing current needs. This is why I have taken the very rash step of committing to run The Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon dressed as a hedgehog. Wish me luck, I'm going to need it!
