Love Your Garden to return on ITV

ITV has recommissioned Love Your Garden for a sixth series.

Presenter David Domoney said the show peaked at 3.7m viewers in 2015's run, and averaged almost 3m.

He said: "ITV has backed gardening. The show is about the interaction between people and their gardens. It shows the importance of gardening as not just a place of hard work but as  a retreat  and haven for the family. That's whhat we need to be pushing, not that it's all about hard graft."

The show will begin filming in April and ITV is looking for suitable locations and garden owners to work with.

Love Your Garden launched on ITV1 in 2011. Alan Titchmarsh is presenter, along with Domoney, Frances Tophill and Katie Rushworth. Frosts does the landscaping.

Last week, Carol Klein said there was little gardening TV planned so far in 2016 after a big year in 2015.

Domoney has also launched a bulb range with John Lewis, who he deisgned a garden for at Hampton Court Flower Show 2014.

Domoney will be at Garden Futures this week talking about his Cultivation Street project.
