Latest product launches designed with growers' efficiency as key element

Fruit Focus saw the launch of a raft of new products designed to help growers work more effectively.

These included Ilex Organics' new BioAgri range of environmentally friendly mulching, clear and light-reflective plastic films that could help growers meet the escalating costs of waste disposal.

Also with an eye on environmental considerations, berry packaging firm Sharpak launched Extrafresh at the show - which promises enhanced freshness while reducing packaging costs and waste in fresh produce.

Beekenkamp used the show to unveil its new Quickfold crate and Tubex, and with its eye on the viticulture market it introduced Jumpstart - a fully opening vine shelter.

The new 3,000-litre Magistral vineyard sprayer was showcased by Equipment Supply Services, while Field Irrigation took the opportunity to give visitors their first view of the company's new waterproof multi-parameter tester.

A simple toggle operation enables the new unit to check pH, conductivity, TDS, salinity or temperature.
