Kymco MXU 300R ATV

For 2011, Kymco has introduced a bigger, more powerful and stylised version of its popular shaft-driven MXU 300R ATV.

Priced at £3,333 plus VAT, the MXU 300R is a fully automatic, lightweight, dual-purpose sports and utility quad. Suited to farming and forestry as well as horticulture, the quad is powered by Kymco's latest liquid-cooled 270cc four-stroke engine and can achieve speeds of 45mph and deliver an improved 14kW at 7,000rpm and a maximum torque of 2.2kg-m at 55,000rpm.

The vehicle's automatic transmission system also connects to Kymco's low maintenance shaft driven system to enable quick and easy selection of high or low and reverse gears and give the bike manoeuvrability and towing capacity across multi-terrain environments. To enhance performance and safety, the quad features a locking front differential to maximise traction on adverse terrain.

Kymco has also restyled the 2011 version in line with American design trends and has made it a physically wider machine. Curb weight remains 215kg. The larger dual purpose tyres - 22x10-10 rear and 22x7-10 front - also help give this bigger bike a ground clearance of 20cm.

Additional features, which are all fitted as standard, include adjustable suspension to improve rider comfort, front and rear disc brakes, electric and pull start, fully enclosed foot boards, tow hitch (200kg capacity), foot brake, parking brake, front and rear steel carriers, engine stop device, anti-collision guard, digital display and 12V socket.
