With the Dutch tree nursery involved, Kolff will be able to offer a wide range of varieties in different sizes.
The group, which is made up of specialist European hardy nursery stock growers supplying to the UK, will showcase the new range at the Four Oaks Trade Show next month.
Kolff sales manager for the UK and Ireland Stephen Slade said: "We are strengthening our tree offer with the addition of an extra grower, and we can now offer a comprehensive range. Crum offers a range of varieties or every shape and size."
He added that customers would benefit from Crum’s approach to growing the trees.
"The trees are grown on elevated containers rather than in the ground, so they are air-pruned and easily cropped," he said. "We are sending them out with fibrous roots with a growing medium. There are big environmental benefits because we are not giving away soil with them."
Also at Four Oaks, Dutch young plant and tree grower Batouwe will showcase a range grown in pots trialled last year. The nursery has trialled slotted Air-Pots with 5000 whips and achieved good results with the root development.
"They are much finer and better branched out, so this year we have up to 50.000 whips in these pots," said Batouwe founder Henk Huibers. "The advantage of these pots is that we can deliver them all the year. The take after transplantation is up to 100% and the rootsystem is much bette rand finer."
