Klondyke and Squires garden centres move into Epos era

The last two big garden centre groups are installing Electronic Point of Sale equipment, through Corby & Fellas.

Klondyke Garden Centres has followed Squires in bringing in Epos systems to help them track sales.

Corby & Fellas director Chris Corby said they looked at Hillier's system before going ahead.

He said 60 per cent of HTA members still did not have Epos, though most of retail now has.

Wyevale-owned Garden & Leisure still has its own Corby & Fellas Epos system but is due to switch to a different system to cover the whole 141-centre group.

Meanwhile, former Garden & Leisure IT manager is due to set up a scheme for the HTA to collect industry-wide Epos data, from a provider yet to be appointed, to help collect industry wide sales figures.
