Bob, with his wife Dorothy, established Klondyke Group more than 30 years ago and built the business to a group of garden centres employing over 1,000 personnel with an annual turnover approaching £50 million.

A Klondyke statement read:

"Bob’s passion and enthusiasm for the garden centre industry was well known and he will be sadly missed by all in the industry who knew him, his many long serving members of staff and the Board of Directors of the company. Our thoughts are with Dorothy and her family at this most difficult time of loss."
