The Surrey university sent out offers to more than 30 students for the £9,000 per year Landscape Institute-accredited course but did not attract the 30 needed.
Last year numbers were also low. Kingston subsidised the course but this was not possible in the long term.
A representative said it was getting increasingly difficult to recruit for undergraduate landscape courses nationally, at a time when higher education was experiencing increased financial pressures.
She added: "Kingston University will continue to offer two well-established postgraduate level courses in the subject."
