The pair will undertake the Freeze for Tree – Mid Winter Swim at Brockwell Lido in south London on 13 December, a pool close to the charity’s headquarters in Lambeth.

All funds raised from the group swim will go towards Trees for Cities tree planting schemes. Chilly swimmers will get a hot drink and mince pie for their trouble and there will also be prizes for fancy dress, goodie bags and music.

Channel 4 news presenter Snow: said "Trees for Cities is planting thousands of trees, greening streets, sapping carbon emissions, bringing back the birds and providing a more mellow environment for us all.  I’m proud of what they have achieved, but with your help, we could still do more"

Trees for Cities aims to plant 75,000 new trees this year. It employes three in-house landscapers for London projects and partners with other organisations for its projects elsewhere.

Barcham Trees supplies most of its projects but the charity uses other suppliers as well.
