The contracts secured are with Stonewater, Sovereign Housing Association and Newlon Housing Trust.

At Stonewater, John O'Conner picked up the East and South East lots, worth £355,000 and £1.3m respectively. Sodexo, The Landscape Group and Biosphere Organics also won grounds maintenance contracts with Stonewater.

Sovereign Housing Association awarded John O'Conner the grounds maintenance contract for Berkshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire, while contractor Ground Control picked up the contract for Dorset and the west of England. Countrywide, which formerly held all of Sovereign's grounds maintenance contracts, renewed its contract for Devon.

John O'Conner is a family-owned company that has been established for over 45 years. It highlighted this expertise and its private ownership in its contract bids, focusing on its "partnership relationship" philosophy.

In a statement, John O'Conner said it would work closely with residents to ensure the service matches their needs and providing added value initiatives such as work experience opportunities and corporate social responsibility projects.
