Irish garden centre campaign launches to encourage consumers to grow

A Retail Excellence Ireland campaign supported by Bord Bia is promoting garden centres and growing your own.

An initiative created by garden centres and nursery growers, GroMór is a nationwide campaign to promote growing to all ages, especially targeting younger families and first-time buyers.

The campaign aims to make growing the new cooking, looking to encourage people who may have previously found gardening intimidating to begin to look at what they can do, whether this is on their window sill, on their balcony or in their garden.

The website includes guides of how to plant and grow.

The GroMór initiative has being supported by more than 65 Retail Excellence Ireland garden centres throughout Ireland, where there will be a GroMór brand area promoting Irish plants. The garden centres will be supported additionally by an active social media campaign.

GroMór has been brought together by the REI and jointly funded by garden centres, nurseries, Bord Bia, Bord na Mona and Westland.
