A: I think you mean the Cochet hedge trimmer shown by Richmonds Groundcare. It is designed for easy mounting to riding mowers or small tractors and features a reciprocating cutting blade on a telescopic arm to allow hedges up to 4m tall and 2.6m across to be cut with minimal effort.
The trimmer's patent-pending chassis uses three wheels to follow ground contours and keep the blades in line with the hedge. The mounting bracket is rotated through 90 degs to top the hedge.
What is more, in a matter of seconds the hedge trimmer can be detached from the support arm to reach areas inaccessible by the mower.
It seems a simple idea and one that should save hours of effort and reduce operator fatigue in formal gardens, golf courses and parks. And yes, it is on my wish list of equipment to test.
