Institute extends awards deadline

More time to apply for industry awards

The Landscape Institute (LI) has extended the deadline for expressions of interest in its 2006 awards to 26 June. All parties interested in taking part were told they had to write to the LI by 2 June to receive entry packs to take part. But the LI is investigating letters not being delivered by the Royal Mail over two days. It is appealing to people who wrote asking for packs in that time to do so again. The awards, which encourage and recognise outstanding work by the landscape profession, will be expanded with the introduction of two categories this year. The new awards are for Landscape Policy and the Tree Council’s Derek Lovejoy Award. The other awards include design, management, research and landscape planning. Interested parties will receive an entry pack in early July and must submit it by 18 August. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 30 November. L Don’t forget to enter the Horticulture Week Awards. The deadline for entries is 16 June. Call Phillippa Robinson on 020 8267 4145.
