Industry mourning loss of Rob Lovejoy

The funeral of West Sussex nurseryman and garden centre owner Rob Lovejoy took place on 29 July.

Lovejoy was director of Fresh Acres Nurseries, which was established in 1938 and is still owned by the same family. He took over from his father-in-law more than 50 years ago and his son Richard is now managing director.

The main production nursery is at Fresh Acres Nurseries, Walberton, with a second site at Chichester and retail garden centres in Sussex and Surrey including Manor Nursery near Chichester and at Angmering.

Fresh Acres Nurseries' main trade has been producing bedding plants, hanging baskets and containers for local authorities and pot plants for supermarkets. It also grows hardy nursery stock, shrubs and houseplants. The nursery covers an area of 10ha.
